Daraz’s Product Guidelines Policy outlines the standard guidelines sellers need to follow when uploading products on Daraz’s platform.

This policy is in addition to, and in no way limits, other obligations of the sellers pursuant to the Marketplace Agreement.

Policy Guidelines

Prohibited Product:

Prohibited items are those which are in direct contradiction to one’s country laws, customs, and religious beliefs. For example, religious items are not allowed due to logistics concerns, as during their delivery they can be mishandled.

Restricted products that increase the sexual drive, items which are directly or indirectly related to it are not allowed. Many Cellular devices, due to restrictions imposed by PTA, and prescribed medicines, due to restrictions by DRAP, are also strictly banned to be sold on Daraz.

Counterfeit Products 

No Seller will be allowed to sell counterfeit products on Daraz. This includes but may not be limited to:

  • Items that bear such similarities with other products that they are likely to deceive buyers into thinking they are made or sold by the owner of the other product’s brand.
  • Items that apply for a trademark (e.g. a brand or character logo) on the product, the product packaging, or anywhere in relation with the product, without authorization by the trademark owner.
  • Items that contain specific design elements (e.g. cartoon characters or colorways) protected by a trademark, without the authorization by the trademark owner.

 

Never mislead the customer into thinking it is a branded products, if it is not an authorized branded product! 

Example: Mild alteration of a brand name to sell copy item.

Brand Guidelines:

You may select “No Brand” if the product is local and has no specific brand. If the product is branded, you must provide required documents (such as registration certificate or brand authorization letter) to get your brand created which takes up to 2 to 3 days. Product with Contact Information:

Sellers are not allowed to share their personal contact details anywhere in the SKU i-e in SKU images with personal contact details of seller, contact number in product title, highlights or description.

Incorrect Product Categorization:

Daraz does not allow sellers to tag products in the wrong category for any reason.

 

Example: Kids clothing tagged in Mobiles Category

Misleading Product Information

All Sellers are required to provide complete and accurate information when uploading products. This includes but may not be limited to:

  • Accurate information on product color, model, sizing, and variation
  • Correct details of what’s in the box
  • Accurate product weight information

Example of misleading product information: If multiple color variations are shown in the same image, implying that any random color may be dispatched to the customer. (In this case we recommend adding variations and multiple images the customer can select from at the time of purchase).

Change of Product Description:

If the description and details of a product is changed after the product goes live in any campaign, the seller will be blacklisted form participating in any campaigns for 3 months.

Product with Copyright Information

Sellers are not allowed to use Daraz artwork on their SKUs otherwise they will face strict action.

Fake Discounts:

Daraz does not allow sellers to inflate original price to show a higher discount on the product. Sellers will receive non compliance points for not complying with this sub-policy.
